Suzanne Barclay Training & Consulting
suzannebarclay.com
Suzanne Barclay is a Belfast-based expert in strategic consulting, facilitation, and training.
With over 25 years of experience working with the Northern Ireland Civil Service and the private sector, she required a digital presence that reflected her authority, professionalism, and the high-impact nature of her work.
I was commissioned to design and build a bespoke website into a modern, scalable platform capable of managing direct course bookings.

The Website Brief:
The brief for this project was centered on three core pillars:
Professional Clarity: A clean, minimalist aesthetic that allows the content—Suzanne’s expertise—to take center stage.
Conversion-Driven: A seamless integration of e-commerce to handle complex course and workshop bookings.
Local Visibility: A robust SEO foundation targeted specifically at Belfast and the wider Irish market.

Key Features
1. Clean, Minimalist Design
The visual identity of the site uses a “less is more” approach. By utilising generous white space, a sophisticated color palette, and clear typography, the design instills trust and reflects the organised, strategic nature of Suzanne’s consultancy services.
2. Responsive Architecture
Recognising that busy professionals often browse for training on the go, the site is fully responsive. Whether viewed on a desktop in a Belfast boardroom or a smartphone on a commute, the user experience remains fluid, legible and intuitive.
3. Integrated E-commerce & Booking System
A major technical requirement was the transition into a service model. I implemented a custom e-commerce solution that allows users to:
Browse a curated catalog of training courses and workshops.
Add all delegate information.
Securely book and pay for spots instantly, streamlining the administrative process for both Suzanne and her clients.
4. Localised SEO Strategy
To ensure the site reaches its primary audience, I executed a targeted SEO strategy focused on Belfast markets. By optimising for regional search terms and industry-specific keywords (such as “Business Training Belfast” and “Facilitation Training Belfast”), the site is positioned to capture high-intent local traffic.
The Results:
The new website is more than just a portfolio; it is a high-functioning business tool. It successfully bridges the gap between traditional consulting and modern digital education, providing a professional, easy-to-navigate home for Suzanne’s decades of expertise.
In terms of SEO and Google positions, it is too soon to claim any success, although at time of writing, the website has only been live for 1 week. Google search positions should kick in within another 1 – 4 weeks.
